Holography, degenerate horizons and entropy

چکیده
We show that a realization of the correspondence AdS2/CFT1 for near extremal Reissner-Nordström black holes in arbitrary dimensional Einstein-Maxwell gravity exactly reproduces, via Cardy’s formula, the deviation of the BekensteinHawking entropy from extremality. We also show that this mechanism is valid for Schwarzschild-de Sitter black holes around the degenerate solution dS2×S. These results reinforce the idea that the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy can be derived from symmetry principles. PACS number(s): 04.60.Kz; 04.60.Ds

Holography of 3D flat cosmological horizons.
We provide a first derivation of the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of 3D flat cosmological horizons in terms of the counting of states in a dual field theory. These horizons appear in the flat limit of nonextremal rotating Banados-Teitleboim-Zanelli black holes and are remnants of the inner horizons. They also satisfy the first law of thermodynamics. We study flat holography as a limit of AdS(3)/C...
متن کاملHorizon Holography
A holographic correspondence between data on horizon and space-time physics is investigated. We find similarities with the AdS/CFT correspondence, based on the observation that the optical metric near the horizon describes a Euclidean asymptotically anti-de Sitter space. This picture emerges for a wide class of static space-times with a non-degenerate horizon, including Schwarzschild black hole...

متن کاملLightfront holography and area density of entropy associated with localization on wedge-horizons
It is shown that a suitably formulated algebraic lightfront holography (LFH), in which the lightfront is viewed as the linear extension of the upper causal horizon of a wedge region, is capable of overcoming the shortcomings of the old lightfront quantization. The absence of transverse vacuum fluctuations which this formalism reveals is responsible for an area (edge of the wedge) -rearrangement...
متن کاملThermodynamic Gravity And The Emergence of Space With Geometry
Thermodynamic aspects of black holes and Rindler horizons are reviewed along with quantum field theory in the corresponding curved spacetimes. The implication that gravity might be thermodynamic in origin is considered. Macroscopic space is seen to emerge at a course-grained limit via the application of holography in the context of horizons. Both Newtonian and Einsteinian gravity are seen (sepe...
